Still No Sightings in the Wild

Came across the same Titanium Prius Prime three times within two days.

 

Finally saw my second Prime in the wild tonight. It was a titanium. Too dark to really get a sense of the color. At first, I thought Gen4 Prius, but then I thought, no, wait it's parked in a EV charging spot. Look more closely. A Prime! A Prime! Met the owner, too. She wished me luck in getting mine before the end of the year. I'm now 2 for 2 in meeting the owners as they returned to their cars.

 

Lucky dog.

 

You're in the Dallas area? I've seen 2 primes, one in Addison and one on the George bush turnpike right at 75. so there are a few of them here!

 

I'm in Plano, home of the mothership. Maybe I need to go hang out in Legacy West?

Cool, I grew up in Plano but we live in Murphy now. Yeah I think you're most likely to see them in the we$t side of Plano or Frisco or maybe Addison.

 

I'm in the "Asian neighborhood", Park and Coit. (This seems to be based on a couple of banks, a still-unopened grocery, and a number of restaurants. It's not like Chicago, where there are real ethnic neighborhoods.)

Got it. There's a couple of those on chase oaks and legacy and 75 and spring creek too. And it's the same thing where it's a few stores

 

I go over to 75 & Spring Creek frequently, but still haven't seen a Prime. Chase Oaks & Legacy, not so much.

So I saw my car's twin again (or a second mag blue in one week!) in Catherdal City today. I was walking (from a charging station) so there was no way to let the driver know I am a kindred spirit.

 

Wrong, you could have jumped in front of the car. Auto braking would have saved you and then you could have talked.

 

Don't take offense, AnneLW or husband - huskers is a stickler about this issue.

 

No offense taken. That was pretty mild.

The only other board I post on is a baseball board that was formed as an offshoot from one where the moderators made us talk nice to each other. Several of them have met in real life and are friends but have different internet personas.

 

One thing that would help us is to know who we're talking to, you or Anne, since you both use the same ID. Perhaps signing your first name at the bottom of your posts would help.

 

Also meant as a joke! I love huskers humor - just elbowing him a bit for disqualifying my 'sighting' earlier.

 

I have only seen one other Prime so far here in Texas, and I really think there aren't many Prime owners out there. I've been unable to sell the Premium Mats that came with mine on eBay. I figured California should have enough Prime owners that'd buy them.

 

Just saw another Prime. This time at Menard's of all places. It was a Blue Magnetism with body side moldings! As I was leaving, the owners came up to the car (it was a whole family) and I almost went over to talk, but I decided I should stop doing that at some point so I left them alone. Now that I think of it, they had a lot of stuff in their cart, so I should have stuck around to see how well it all went into the back.

 

You should have stuck around. I’d be thrilled if someone came up to me to talk about my car.

 

Just back from a month on a cruise ship home ported in Yokohama. Stopped in a few Japanese ports including Okinawa and three ports in Taiwan. Saw a lot of Gen 4 Prius, but not a single Prime. A large proportion of taxis in Japan are Prius, just like here in the Seattle area.

 

Almost all taxis and many Lyft and Uber in Chicago are Prii. I've seen some suburban Prius v taxis, but Lyft/Uber Prius drivers aren't quite as common.

I wonder if there is a single dealership who sells to the city taxi companies. Their fleet manager must make a lot of money.
