I mean there is a bluish interior light flashing in my Prius Prime. All night. I think it may have to do with the security system, but I'd rather the car be more inconspicuous at night. Anybody know what it is and how to turn it off?
This sounds like the three blue lights on the dash in the extreme right side. When you plug-in to charge if you get one flashing the charge is happening. three flashing means the battery is full.
Thanks. That may be it. Is so, I should not have it when it's not plugged in? How about when it's plugged in and waiting to charge via the time?
I have that, too. I'm 58 year old guy (Anne is my wife) and past my "prime" so that's the only flashing happening in my car!
You will alway have the flashing red immobilizer light when the key is not nearby or active. This is a required anti theft feature.
when the third led starts flashing there is about 15 minutes left till full charge and once all three leds are on continuously for about 3 seconds they all turn off meaning your battery is finished charging
Okay-- this is a bright blue light on the lower left-- I think it's coming from a little box they added as a security feature (I didn't want it but I couldn't find a car without it). It only flashes when the car is locked. But it's very bright and distracting.
Err, lower left outside, or lower left inside? Lower left windshield (outside) is, as is being discussed, the charging lights.
Inside. I'll have to call the dealer on a weekday. When they installed this thing it beeped every time I hit a button on the key; they connected me to somebody who talked me through turning that off. It's supposed to help locate the car if it's stolen I think they just charged me extra for meaningless lights and beeps.
Google search Karr alarm. It's a dealer installed alarm that the dealer installs and tries to sell to the customers. Lots of images too. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
If that is the case they should REMOVE it for free. An unknown “extra” like that could cause difficult to troubleshoot issues, especially on a Prius Prime. The Prime electrical system is not designed like most cars today. It is different. Was it designed and manufacturer tested on the Prime to function properly without interfering with other functions?
My prime came with a port installed alarm that wasn’t properly secured, my display went dark, the dealer fixed it and all’s well but it seemed hokey, having one from a dealer that’s misbehaving, that’s hokey’er
I definitely got scammed. They told me it was already installed and I had to pay for it. That is I-10 Toyota in Indio, CA-- just to warn everybody..
