ok...today the master warning light came on...the one with the triangle with exclamation (!) in it...
Car has 9000miles on it...temp outside was 28F...heated seats on for the first time...steering wheel heat on for the first time...that is the only differences from any other morning cold start...messages said cruise control not available...cruise control was on at the time...speed was 62mph on a 4 lane highway...when the cruise quit and heaters for steering wheel and seats quit...no other symptoms or power losses...drove to dealer into the service bay...they plugged in to check for codes...NO CODES thrown...everything was clean...they reset everything...and said come back if it happens again...they have never seen this happen without a code being thrown...and they've never seen it happen on a prime...given there aren't that many around here...that doesn't surprise me...so anybody have any ideas?...im thinking it didn't like all the heaters on...which makes no sense...but who knows...

probably just a senior moment. maybe one of those rare software bugs where everything has to be just right and might never happen again. shouldn't be any reason why you can't turn everything on. please keep us posted.

did you check oil level? warn light will come on with low oil and not throw a code. it may be that if low oil comes on it will minimize energy usage to help save engine? do not know.

oil level perfect...doors shut...since we had it cleared...it has not returned...we are driving normally as before...i guess it was a glitch in the system...time will tell...

  6. I'll take a guess... loose/shorted connection to something plugged in to your OBD port?

nothing plugged in to OBD port...after further review and discussion...service thinks the cruise control was the culprit, given the message was saying cruise control was not active...maybe the cruise control "stick" may be the culprit...they have it documented and the corresponding no codes thrown syndrome as well...so if we come up with the same message on the display again...the stick will get replaced...
