I just wanted to post a little info.

My MFD started acting really strange a few weeks ago in my 2008 Prius. Sometimes it came on normal and run fine. Sometimes it came on normal and then would go to a grey(white) screen while driving. Then it just was dead and wouldn't turn on except on the rare occasion, but never made it up past bluetooth connection before turning to grey, then finally a white line in the middle before going to sleep for a few more weeks. I freaked about a 3K replacement or $1500 for a refurb. I looked into a replacement (Ebay, parts, etc...), but mine is a hard to find because I don't have NAV, but do have a backup camera with JBL sound system. As many advised here, I contacted Steve at AutoBeYours. As his webpage advised I contacted him about Florida local repair (I'm in Orlando). He advised I could remove and send it to him as fastests or I could wait and bring him to him in Titusville. I explained to him that I was a disabled vet and rarely drive the car and would need to get someone to remove it. He immediately replied that he would remove it, repair it, and then replace it for me at the same price if I brought it to him at the coast. It's only about 70 miles for me so I agreed immediately.

I left this morning at 7AM. Steve was waiting at 8 and I told him what I'd been seeing. He knew what it was and said it wouldn't be a problem. I'd say he is a Prius expert as they have a number of them being cannibalized and repaired. He removed my MFD in about 2 minutes without even slowing up. Took it the bench. Came back in about 45 minutes. Put it back in and tested everything. All working great, I swear he put it in faster than he took it out. I thanked him profusely and was home by 11AM. It could not have been a better experience.

Steve and his wife are very experienced and knowledgeable about Prius. Extremely friendly and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to have them work on my car again and will if anything else dies on my car.

Just a heads up about my experience and thank all you guys for having all this Prius knowledge in your collective heads. Saved me a ton of money and a lot more stress and aggravation.

Yes Steve has a second shop in Titusville, at 621 S. Park Ave. He says it is only open 1 week a month for now. He rotates his people through the store so they get some beach time. His web page says to call so you know when it's open. It just happened that it was he and his wife this trip. I got lucky I guess :)

I had the exact problem with my GEN II 2009 MFD w/NAV and went to Titusville today to see Steve. 1 hour in and out. Steve and his wife are an unbelievable team and very knowledgeable about the Prius. MFD working perfectly!! They also shared many tips and tricks with me which I never knew about my own car. Awesome experience! Great folks!
