I wonder if they're going conservative like the new Accord or full on like the Kia Stinger. If full size sedans sales are dwindling because people are buying midsize SUVs instead, then might as well try an attract a different set of buyers (like those that will buy a Stinger).
I hope so. I would like to see a better equipped version of the CH-R. Perhaps Toyota thinks that Lexus buyers would go for a hybrid version. Probably not. We will see.
Lexus hybrids in Canada are pricey (except for the CT and ESh). They're milking the SUV market so the hybrid powertrain option is a higher cost than in the CT or ESh
Agreed. The Lexus NX hybrid is a lot more expensive than the standard NX. That is a much greater "hybrid premium" than the Rav4 Hybrid "premium" even though the NX and Rav4 hybrids use the same drivetrain.
Is that a reasonable price? Probably should import the RAV4 Hybrid. It's selling like hotcakes here (I'm pretty sure it overtook the Camry Hybrid as the best selling Toyota hybrid in Canada).
I just GOOGLED the new UX (Concept car). Hmmm - and some people thing that Gen 4 is ugly: I reckon this is in the "what were they thinking (drinking?)" category.
Yeah but it's always toned down from concept form (except the CH-R) Here's the NX in concept form (LF-NX)
Relative to the cost of the non-hybrid, I think it's reasonable. Starter model NX is $53,550 (non-hybrid) -> $56,100 (hybrid) list price. A fully loaded RAV4 is $50,500 (diesel) - which is probably much better value. I quizzed my dealer about the RAV4 Hybrid - he said that TOYOTA had decided to ONLY bring in the diesel instead - I wasn't really looking for an SUV, but did ask the question just in case. Hopefully - though some LEXI have been quite close - other than more practical wheels. CH-R (which we don't get in hybrid form) - I thought (hoped) they'd fix the back seat before release. It's really ridiculous, visibility out is almost non-existent for victims, particularly younger ones - you'd need to have a stock of VOMIT bags for grandchildren if you dared to put them there. One road test I read, the tester said it's effectively a 2 seater car with a back seat. Front seat is great - far better seat than PRIUS.
That's not too bad. Here, the RAV4 Limited AWD w/ Platinum Package tops out at $39,845. RAV4 Hybrid Limited AWD-i is $41,990 before Freight/PDI ($1,500), other fees/levies and sales taxes (5-15%). An NX200t starts at $44,050 with prices quickly rising (e.g. first pkg is the Premium Package at $48,000). NX300h starts at $55,300 and tops out with the Executive Package at $62,750. Freight/PDI on Lexus is about $2,000. Your NX starting price is looking good (but could be equipped with fewer features than our "base" NX300h).
I assume that is Australian Dollars which would be about $2000 U.S. That is very reasonable. On U.S. pricing on the Lexus website, the price difference seems to be less than $2000. On truecar it seems to be about $2800. I believe that the price difference was higher when the NX first came out but I'm not sure how to prove that.
O.K., the reason for my confusion about the price of the Lexus NX has been revealed. A document released Oct 20 (but dated Sept 27) lists the 2018 Lxeus vehicles base MSRP. The NX 200t (now called the NX300) went up $700 while the NX 300h went down $1385. That's a total reduction in the Hybrid premium of $2085. The difference in base prices is now only $950. I guess they actually want to sell a few of the hybrids before the next generation comes out. Here is a link if you want to see the chart: Lexus MSRP Pricing Chart | Toyota
Here the term is BOGO. In my opinion that is stupid. If I buy one I expect to get one or it is fraud. At one point some had said buy 1 get 2. That made much more sense. I am assuming your bogof is "buy one get one free". If not, feel free to ignore me while my coffee kicks in...
I tried to reply this morning. It's 17:35Z now and I see nothing showing so here I go again. You were on the nose, it's as kithmo said above
Looks like 2018 will be the same as 2017, and the only difference is able to get the bigger center screen from the Prius Prime (at least in Japan). Since Toyota Japan just update the Prius webpage. トヨタ プリウス | 価格・グレード | 特別仕様車 Aプレミアム“ツーリングセレクション・20th Anniversary Limited” | トヨタ自動車WEBサイト
