hi I feel tik tik sound from front brakes mainly from left side when the car is at slow speed and you push the brakes lightly there is tik tik sound and it slows down with slowing down rotation of tire it happens more when brakes are applied while car is turning right I showed this to dealer the service guy says its normal.. while i dont believe its normal.. anyone experienced this?
Even something caught in the tire Treads could make that sound happen. Then again - warped rotors do it too. If it's not something glaringly obvious, best to have the tech look at it. .
Does your model have hub caps ? If you actually hear this and not "feel" it, then it is often caused by a loose rock inside a hubcap......or similar. As mentioned, it could be a rock in the tire tread too........or a nail or other hazzard stuck into the tire.
Well of course it does but as speed increases, other noises tend to cover it up. And one more thought: Sometimes the ticking noise is the hubcap itself flexing because it isn't solidly in place.
It gets easier & easier to hear noises that used to get masked by many other driving sounds. The Continental Tires on obe if our current car has a foam liner attached to the inside because the car is so quiet the tire noise is more noticeable. Ergo they use foam to muffle even the normal sounds of tires traveling down the freeway. .
If the tik-tik is only there when you're braking, not there when you're just coasting, I don't think it would be pebble in tread.
Could be an axle problem?
