Hi All, I just replaced my Multi-Function Display on my 2nd Gen Prius (05) as the touch screen stopped working. I did the replacement myself. My question for this thread is what do I do with the old part as its considered "Hazardous Waste". Not sure where I can take it to, to properly dispose of or Recycle it. I live in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Any locals on here that know where or want to take it off my hands? Thanks
Most communities in the USA have local e-waste drop off locations, or have special events through out the year highlighting such. Best to call around and ask, could try the local dump (land fill) or call city hall directly.
You can find the sites through your town's website or the e-cycle Wisconsin website. I tried to post the link here but for some reason it came up as "IP Blocked.". Anyway it's there.
How was the screen before it stopped working? Mine is really dark, and I would like to replace it. I read there are a few solder joints that go bad that may be easily repaired. I might be interested in yours if it’s possible I might be able to repair. Thanks!
