After having parked my C for 3-4 hours I walked past it and heard an electric motor running it was coming from rear of the vehicle and lifting the trunk it sounded as though it was coming from HV Battery area would this have been the fan for the filter.
pollution check, nothing to see here. scary though, my first time. the cooling fan does not run when the car is off.
Did it stop on its own accord, within a minute or two? It was likely the evaporative emission control system. Check your owner's manual for the list of noises the car makes.
are you saying that the car was switched on as I had already left keys indoors on "where are my keys hook "
no, i'm saying it can't be the cooling fan if the car is off. so it's the evap check fuzzy mentioned above.
sorry if my explanation was not clear the car was switched off and left for a few hours the keys were not present in ignition Thanks for replies
no one does, until they hear it. it's uncommon to happen to be in the area when it happens, because it's so long after shutting down.
