I have a 2014 Prius V 3. I've had it about 2 years. Just recently the bluetooth has started turning off after about a minute of the car being started. It can not be my phone because to troubleshoot I turn the bluetooth off on my phone. Start car, go to Bluetooth set up. Bluetooth on is checked. After a few minutes, it turns off and I am unable to turn it back on. I took it to dealer, and they claimed that I needed an update (for $115). Then they claimed that they could not get the update to install so my unit must be faulty. Came home and my 18 year was able to download and install the update in less than 10 minutes. Great! But I still have the Bluetooth issue. I realize that there are several posts concerning this, but none of them mention that it turns off even when a phone is not paired. Obviously, my dealer is not much help. It's beyond frustrating.
This sounds quite frustrating, just like our music shutting off and receiving the message" looks like you are using another device to play music'" on our iPhones. It can happen two seconds into a song or not at all. The iPhones's software is updated when the notices come out. I have put some music CD's in the car for when this happens because who wants to drive three hours with no music? But this also happens at home sometimes, so I think it is an iPhone issue rather than a Prius problem. Does anyone else get this message when their iPhone music quits playing in their Prius? Aaargh!
