Anyone else the $99 Ebay front lip installed on their cars?

Bringing this thread back from the dead... again, as this is the most informational thread dealing with the new bumper style front lip. Anyone seen or tried the new lip available on eBay? This one says its specifically for the 12-15 front end.

My front lip has taken some damage from winter and I am thinking about switching to this one over the old style that sort of fit. lol

I found a coupon code for $15 off any $75 purhase on ebay a few months ago and was looking at this, but didn't buy it. I have parts I haven't installed yet and didn't want to keep adding to the pile. If you end up getting it can you post some pics? I'm expecting it to look like @saulbassfan 's modelista lip and am curious to see how close it is.

 

I should just buy one as a beater lip and bring legit one out for shows.

I bought one a few months ago but its still in the box.. with the rain n' all that, havent had time to prep and paint it.. although I have also been thinking about just finding someone to paint it for me.. just dont want to pay an arm and a leg to paint an $80 lip..

Hope the attachments work. Mock fit. Overall Im very happy with it especially the price. Idk how I feel about the "fangs" of the lip tho

 

I see what you mean with those fangs. Wonder why they did that instead of follow the whole contour.

 

I think they tried the Modellista lip style

 

The other thing I notice about this new lip from those pictures is that it doesn't have the mounting points like the old style does. The tabs that match the factory lower shield mounts are gone.

 

How does this mount then without those mount points?

 

I just placed some screws and 3m double sided tape.. No mounting points needed..

 

Does anyone have instructions to install this on a 2010 Prius? Any drilling required?

 

As with most of these ebay lips, they come with those self tappers. You just screw them into the plastic. Hardest part is getting the car high enough to screw them in. Shouldn't be a need to drill.

 

There's some plastic tabs near the wheels as well. Can't remember if they hold together the wheel well or skid plate, but you can mark on the lip where they would align and dremel holes large enough for the plastic tab to fit through both. Might want to use double-sided tape along the front of the lip as well just to get some extra hold.

I've been using the ebay gen3 lip on my gen3.5 prius and it's been slowly getting looser from too much driveway scraping. I might pick up the gen3.5 version of the lip and reinstall soon.
