The Prius Population seems to be growing across the country but what's happening in our own back yard in the DC Metro area? I actually look forward to the embarrassment of one day walking confidently towards my Salsa Red Prius, reaching for the handle, and sheepishly discovering that it's not my baby at all but a look alike! Now just where exactly did I park anyway? Hey, it could happen. One day a few weeks back I saw a look alike pull into the space I had just vacated.
Would you believe I've seen four different Salsa Red Prii this past week -- either that or people are driving with mirrors on the side of their cars.
I work in two different offices Aside from my car: One has 3 '04s (Black, Salsa and Silver), and 2 classics in the lot most days. The other has a Salsa, a Silver, and 2 HCHs I see tons of them on the commute every day, probably 2/3 of the VA ones have CF tags.
I have seen about 30 prii in the past two days. I live in Bethesda and I have only been around that area, rockville and such
i've seen a bunch in the germantown/gaithersburg/rockville area! it's great to see! I have seen any other black ones though!
The only Prius I see is my reflection. Toyota don't advertise the car and the dealers only have a pile of brochures which you have to ask for. When people see it they're always interested so I'm sure there is a market. Maybe Toyota are trying to keep it quiet so they can sell all of their output to America. With our congested roads we need more vehicles like these. Lonely of Carlisle
I have seen several Prius on my commute between Tysons Corner and Rockville up 270, Honda hybrids as well. I look over at them but they seem oblivious to me, maybe they are not Priuschatters. Or they are carefully assessing their MPG at that moment in time . . .
I work in Old Town Alexandria, and pass 4 each day parked in the area. Mine and one more park in my building, and now I'm seeing 2 others in my neighborhood in Reston. I can recall getting excited seeing one anywhere -- now the excitement mainly comes on when I look in my own driveway at the Seaside Pearl car with the ultra-sexy mud flaps from Canada. Grok
I was at the corner of Darnestown Road and Shady Grove Road the other morning and there were 4 Pruis in view at the same time driving down the road. Very cool. 8)
Mostly I shop for groceries on Saturdays and a couple of weeks ago saw a Red with temporary tags at the Giant in Burke. newbie
I'm usually shopping at the Giant off Old Keene and Rolling on the weekends, but mine's a black 04 with the plates of RFLAGG. -m.
Wife's purchase on Monday night was at Ourisman Fairfax. I signed all the papers as well. She wants to keep her old Virginia vanity tag (DMV has responded to my query about that).
On the way from work, heading West on Braddock at edge of Kings Park Shopping Center white classic P* turned right at the traffic light at the same time that new Silver P* turned left, same moment. I smiled.
Black P* seen Tuesday afternoon ready to turn left at or close to Kings Park shopping center and tag ending -4436 (I have the letters but will leave them off for sake of the person's privacy).
The three and a half days I have been driving Silver Pkg#2 while wife is gone to Europe I have mostly been watching myself. Morning's commute in from the west increased calculated mpg to 58.9 still early in first purchased tank (bladder) of gasoline.
