Any warranties still in effect for a Prius 2010 (Canada)?

I'm from Canada and I recently bought a used 2010 model Prius. I must say, I'm very happy with the gas mileage, close to 47 mpg (20km/L). Here's a question, does anybody know what the original warranties were? Wanted to know if the powertrain, hybrid battery, etc are still under warranty. I've spoken to two Toyota dealerships and they are giving me conflicting information. Anyone from Canada who knows? Thanks.

@Tideland Prius or @Mendel Leisk may know. They are Canadians here.

You can download the "Owner's Supplement" in pdf format here:

Owner’s Manuals and Emergency Response Guides - Toyota Canada

It outlines warranty and maintenance. The maintenance is a real jumble, I've tried to summarize it:

    upload_2017-10-18_16-5-47.png

This is just my attempt to summarize what I think Toyota's saying to do, for 2010 Prius. I don't follow it exactly, and I do some extras, an occasional transaxle fluid drain-and-fill, and a tri-yearly (or 48K km) brake fluid change. The latter has been added to the maintenance schedule by Toyota, starting in 2014 I believe.

Depending on when the 2010 was first registered, it may only have one warranty left - the hybrid one. All the regular car warranties are up IIRC.

Here's the full list of warranties:

    Bumper-to-bumper (new car) warranty
    *3 years/60,000km

    Powertrain (includes Power Split Device)
    *5 years/100,000km

    Corrosion Perforation
    *5 years/unlimited km

    Safety Restraint Systems
    *5 years/100,000km

    Hybrid-related Components(1)
    *8 years/160,000km

    Emissions Defect/Performance
    *3 years/60,000km

    Specified Major Emissions Components
    *8 years/130,000km

    *Whichever comes first
    (1) Hybrid components include Hybrid battery, battery control module, hybrid control module, inverter with converter

Basically you potentially have some time left on the hybrid warranty if it wasn't in-service on 18th October 2009 or earlier (basically 8 years from today).

Are you going to add the oil catch can to your maintenance schedule? EGR cleaning too.

My aim with this spreadsheet was only to summarize only what was in the 2010 Canadian schedule, as presented by Toyota. This was virtually necessity: the Canadian schedule managed to eclipse the US schedule for obtuseness. This in itself is quite an achievement.

OTOH, the 2014 schedule includes a much improved graph, but still encompasses all Toyota models:

You had added "change transaxle fluid" so I thought you had added some community recommendations too.

Yeah true. I think when I did that it was so hard to suss out, what was for Prius, and what was for other Toyota vehicles, where transmission fluid change was spec'd. I don't want to look at that thing again, lol.

There's an warranty "enhancement" on the EGR system.

That's a Canadian thing, I should have mentioned. Also, I opted to DIY mine, even though it's low mileage, not really warranted to do yet. Just don't trust them, or want to hassle with them.

Since this thread topic is Canadian warranty Mendel assumed you were posting in that topic not some other random topic.
