Windshield Speedometer Display - Any way to turn off?

    I'm a previous owner of a 2008 Prius - I sold it as I just moved to Australia. I'm thinking of buying a Prius v. Test drove it and liked it, but the speedometer that's reflected onto the windshield drives my wife crazy. Does anyone know if there's a way to turn it off?

    Short of a switch to turn it off, place a thin, dash colored opaque shield over the projector opening?

    There is a collection of switches labelled "HUD" that turns on/off, varies the height and brightness of the Head Up Display. In the UK it's on the lower right side of the steering wheel. So, for the US, it will be on the lower left.

    yep.. drives my husband nuts too. just hit HUD button
