I drove my prius to work this morning but when I left for Lunch, the car would not start, it smells like rotten eggs inside the cabin now, the lights come on, but I cannot press the brakes pedal down to start the car. Doors will not lock, Is it my main battery? No way to start again?

Sounds (and smells) like the 12 volt battery. I'd at least start with that. If original battery, even stronger case.

6 years is not that old, but getting there. how many miles on her? these batteries don't always wear down slowly, unfortunately.

Batteries of all make and type will show no signs of deterioration and then just completely fail out of no where, mostly car parked outside the first major cold evening of the year. Not all instances that that happens. All my car batteries have done that to me.
