Recently picked up a gen 2 ('06) and have a buddy with a gen 3 ('14) Prius V. He replaced the stereo and has the stock one laying around, which has bluetooth audio vs the bluetooth calling only on mine. Are the stereos at all able to be interchanged?
Lots of issues with this but the two biggest are harness (hookup capability) differences and face plate incompatibility. I assume the Gen3 unit would be free but even so you would be much better off getting an aftermarket unit that comes the correct harness adapters. Also, you can get streaming audio bluetooth adapters to connect to the gen 2 unit. Select Toyota Scion Lexus 02-12 Bluetooth Hands Free Car Adapter Kit
