Silver Pine w/ Beige #8

    Date Ordered: 5/30/06
    Dealer Ordered From (Incl. City/State): Superstition Springs Toyota, went through Fleet Dept. Charged MSRP, Fees of $289. Cheapest in the Phoenix area that I could determine.
    Timeframe given for delivery: 4-6 weeks+
    Color: Silver Pine
    Option Package: #8, or 7 with aftermarket leather.
    Your # on Dealer's Waiting List: unknown.

    It's been about 4 weeks, but I knew it'd be a long time for the green. :)

    I've been offered a Silver w/Grey interior pkg 8, which is super-cool, but not me. And dark grey seats? in Phoenix? Uh-uh.

    And then next, a tan pkg 7, which I thought long and hard about, but for now, I'm still holding out for a Silver Pine.

    Good luck on getting the car and package you want! Since you've already waited t4 of the up-to-six-weeks wait you were quoted, I assume you're not 'desperate' for a car.

    I needed a car right away, so I was flexible on color and package - got a SuperWhite package 5. I added leather seats aftermarket. Check out www.katzkin.com as a seller of the leather seats themselves - their web site shows great examples of colors and color combinations availabe, and has a list of installers. My dealer used a 3rd party installer who used Katzkin seats, and my cost was $995 + tax. I've seen other people post about upgrading to leather seats after-market using Katkin, and many of them said they paid around $1000 - $1200. (I had quotes from another Toyota dealer and a 3rd party auto upholstery place that quoted me $1000 just for the labor!)

    Not completely desperate, but I have been driving a rental for four weeks now. My prior baby, a Nissan Murano (copper with the orange leather package) was totalled :( and the insurance covers about 30 days of rental. Since that just ran out, over the weekend, I was able to get an awesome deal to rent a Prius. So, while I wait for my Prius, I'm driving one! We'll see how I feel in a couple weeks when Silver Pine still isn't coming in, and I'm still paying for the rental myself! :) I don't mind waiting just a little longer to have something that feels just right, but 6 months I just can't do.

    Thanks! Katzkin looks awesome. The dealer actually quoted me $1500 for aftermarket which is another reason I forwent the Driftwood pkg 7. Sure, I can get more than beige or grey, but for about $500 than a pkg 8?

    I've heard that the #8 package doesn't include leather coverings for the center console of armrests (although I've never seen a #8); I know my Katzkin set did include those.

    I sympathize with the totalled car - mine '98 Cavalier Z28 convertible was totalled April 11, and I no longer had collision coverage; I was paying for a rental, including the extra insurance since my policy didn't cover collistion, so it was about $35 a day out of my own pocket. I got my Prius on April 19!

    Silver Pine....that was my 1st choice, but I took a Siver when int came in, just couldn't wait... I think the (not so dark) grey cloth would be cooler than any color leather in Arizona.........(JMO)

    Yeah.. that IS true. I knew someone'd comment on that. :)

    I really wanted leather, actually, not so much because it's all stylish and swanky, but more because I'm an unbelievably messy person. Cloth seats get stained so easily, with leather you at least have a chance of wiping it up first.

    Woo! And I picked up a silver pine Pkg 7 over the weekend! so now I've got to figure out what color leather I want. :p It actually came into Superstition Springs.. and THEY DIDN'T TELL ME. I emailed because I found a pkg 8 with grey leather coming into Camelback (which btw, will be available late July now.. ) and wanted to know if they had a bisque leather one, by chance, coming in. He said, "gee, there's a pkg 7 on the lot. " :angry: So, it had 42 miles on it, too. Bummer.

    And this, after I freaked out last weekend, and put down deposits at Camelback, Avondale and Big Two... oh well.. time to traipse around and ask for return checks...

    I ordered a Silver with Package 4 from Big Two just shy of two weeks ago, and it's coming in this week. I thought about the interior, the Silver only having the dark grey, but I figured with the tinting they're going to do and potential leather upgrade down the line, I could live with it. Currently have a Silver 99 Corolla with a lighter grey interior, gets hot out here but I have no tint so that hurts.
