Yesterday, I talked with Lynn Ross at Riverside Toyota still had a couple of Priii in stock (at MSRP). Riverside had 7 in stock last week, but apparently word is getting out, so they will go quick. Lynn said they had a couple in stock with a few more in-bound that aren't yet matched to a waiting list. I was *just* about to get on a plane from Dallas to Tulsa to get a grey package 6, when I learned from a local dealer that I finally received a positive allocation match on my desired package (green or grey, package 3 or 4, no port options). The worst part was deciding between an 'available now' that had a couple of 'really sweet' (but not absolutely necessary) options, or cooling my heels for 3 weeks and getting an exact package match. I reluctantly chose the latter, giving up the 'bird in hand'. I could have been driving my new Prius right now Regardless, my search for a Prius is finally over. I have learned that if you are flexible, the cars *can* be found. Since I began my search three weeks ago, I have identified at least 6 cars available, but none with my 'desired color'. Here is the irony... The Prius is only available in 8 colors, and I would accept a green or grey. Every single car that came available was from the other six (sigh!) . I have learned that despite the long waiting lists, dealers have deals that fall through all the time for numerous reasonsCustomers disagree on trade in values, can't get credit, they buy another car model, or find an in-stock at another dealer. For example, on Friday a Prius came available when the customer decided to get the Highlander hybrid at the last second. The dealer called me, but it didn't match my color. However, with persistence, an acceptable color/package/option combination will come up. Of course, there is always the 'allocation lottery' Here is their website: http://www.riversidetoyotatulsa.com ... and their phone: (800) 225-2769

Good point, and yes, I agree. I, too, am not a fan of the sealant or extra mile package. These are high profit packages with few *tangibles*. The one I let go had package 6 with *no* port options, which makes it one of the better 'MSRP's. The 'nice to haves' I was referring to are the HID, and bluetooth. Some people can't live without them, but I don't really need them.
