Toyota lowered the rebate from $3500 to $3000. Either they are getting closer to the amount they need to sell for the carb credits or the dwindling Northeast supply played a factor.
A third possibility: they know plug-in sales increase in the last quarter because of the quicker turnaround on the $4500 fed tax credit.
Word of caution. Many dealers won't show rebates for 1-2 more days and it may appear that rebates are gone. It often takes 2-4 business days into the new month for manufacturer rebates to post.
correction: new england was the only geographic area to increase the rebate, $3,250. up from $3,125. so what is toyota up to?
