I do this often in the NC mountains -- no real accomplishment. The stretch of Parkway where I did this is about a 2500 ft vertical drop over the 18.5 miles from Craggy Gardens to Asheville. I just posted this for kix

As 199.9 is the maximum the readout can display, it makes you wonder what the actual mpg is. :)

Another anal-retentive, bored-to-death Prius owner. Checking the gas mileage after only 18 miles??? I haven't even finished my chili dog after 18 miles!! Takes me at least 25 miles...

Any chance of a link? That car is NOT in my league so I'm unlikely to lurk there.

Nice - I visit Asheville from time to time, but not yet in my Prius. Can't wait to try out that Blue Ridge Parkway descent!

Spreadsheets are useful for fill-up to fill-up but how would you create one for an instant mpg readout over 18 miles ?

You could make a note of the readout distance and then keep Trip A going, reset Trip B and read them both off when Trip A mpg fell below 199. This will allow you to calculate total fuel use and fuel use over Trip B, and from these fuel use for the first part of Trip A.
