Sometimes but not always. A LCL (Less than Container Load) freight order is volume/weight dependent and really depends on the consolidator. You have to pay for shipping from factory to port, the LCL freight, receiving port fees, potential clearing fees, and then shipping from receiving port to your house. All of this in addition to waiting about a month for the goods.

My last LCL freight container for a completely unrelated product of mine went through 3 companies, each with different insurance requirements. Additionally a freight container may be pulled for customs inspections at any time. Sometimes it is just a paperwork check, sometimes, it is a pure visual inspection, sometimes, a full container x-ray, or more. When you ship LCL your stuff is mixed in with lots of other people's stuff and it is more likely to be scanned. My last LCL freight was randomly selected for x-ray. That was a $750 fee for every LCL item in the container. Doesn't matter if it is a $20 toy or $200K worth of batteries, everyone in the container needs to pay $750, that's the fee.

So for single quantities, sea freight is usually cheaper if you can wait a month. Air freight is more consistent in pricing since every parcel is independent on the metal tube and gets there in a few days.

Nope. Been to the zen garden Toyota put in, that was quite nice. Most of my travel is for leisure, sometimes I add in a business meeting while away though.

 

$1600 with shipping included is the price I am trying to build off of, but don't hold me to it yet. That's what I currently have listed as the retail price on the website.

 

Batteries arrived from my factory today. Starting inventory and testing on my side. Waiting on a few packaging materials to arrive as well. Hope to ship out the first units this week.
