I've got a quick question about some wheels that I found, They're JNC 014s in Gloss Bronze (sorry I can't post a link yet since I'm fairly new). I'm thinking 17x8.25s all around. I'm just wondering if these would fit on my '08 Prius, and what tire size I would need. If they don't fit I would love to know of some other similar options I could go for, or what steps I could take to make them fit. Thanks
If you use 205/45R17 or 215/45R17 they should work so long as you get a rim size with the correct offset. Do some searching on PC for offsets for 17" rims; I know there's a good thread or two on the forums with people posting what offsets they've used (just do not use the 3rd gen Prius as a reference; it has a larger wheel well). Also, expect a 5 or more mpg reduction in your fuel economy.
my wheels are 40mm offset. I believe 50mm would fit better and you might be able to squeeze a 225 tire in there without rubbing or modding the fenders. I don't think more than a 7.5" wide wheel is a good idea though.
I got 7" wide, and the wheels came with 225/50r16 tires; they poked out in the front enough I knew they would munch my fenders. however there was plenty of room on the inside.
16x7 @ 45mm offset on my touring, test fit 17x7.5 at same offset and it appears good, although I haven't taken the plunge and done it so I couldnt tell you if it scrubs in the front. The 17x7.5 test fit at 45mm offset was with 205/45 R17 Yokohamas.
