I bought cheap rubber floor mats in November 2014, and after 3 winters I've just discovered a rip in the driver's mat---predictable, I suppose. Also a major drawback: the driver's mat didn't cover the left footrest, and it's been difficult to scrub---I think I tried a vinegar-in-water mixture, though not promptly after winter ended---the road salt off that exposed area. As I examine the photo (at the PriusChat Shop) of the "ALL WEATHER FLOOR LINERS FOR 2012-2017 TOYOTA PRIUS C - OEM", it looks like the driver's mat covers the left footrest. Question #1: Is the footrest coverage adequate? Question #2: Is it recommended that I remove the original embroidered carpets first, and then lay down the "all weather floor liners"?
The oem all weather floor mats I have do not cover the left foot rest on the driver side. I put in a stereotypical dead pedal to protect that area.
The weather tech ones do not fully cover the foot rest either and you will likely need to remove the driver side base one as it may likely not hook to the floor holder.
Here's a pic of the all weather mats and the left side still exposed: http://i715.photobucket.com/albums/ww152/djdawn/carupgrades/A245E97C-ECA4-422C-9F56-59E48B7F220C.jpg
