Can you guess the year / generation of this Prius

    ...looks like a Gen II (2004-9), it looks like it has SKS (buttons), bigger spoiler might indicate "Touring" (a side view, count the number of wheel-spokes, 7 would confirm "Touring"), front view showing fogs might also indicate HID & "Touring", ...er, that's it! BTW Welcome to PriusChat!!! :)

    With starting characters of 5Y, you're looking at a 2007 model by my guess. + or - 1 year.

    Black was only available 2004 & 2005. So either a 2004/2005 with 2006-2009 taillights, or 2007 with black repaint. Touring came out in 2007.

    I would say it's a 2nd gen 2007. Just because my late 2006 has plate number 5WGW

    That car looks grey. The windows are darker than the car. And I had a 2008 black prius

    But that would make it a 2009, which doesn't match the license plate.

    2007 (Gen 2.5) non-Touring.

    I'm having a hard time seeing that rear view mirror. One of the photos make me believe it's a Pkg #1 or Pkg #2 but the other photo makes me believe it's a higher package lol.

    At the risk of being an "heretic"... would you like to try the same with an Acura?

    p.s. FWIW, I needed to know the make/brand/model/year of three cars for a research project related to car detection.

    Sure, why not. We probably have some Acura owners here.

    Although if you want to know for sure, you may want to check out an Acura forum like Acurazine.

    I found myself trying to figure out what car the photographer was in. There is a central sensor which I am thinking is a daylight sensor followed by a V shaped reflection on the windshield. Then I stopped and said, not enough information here.
