Hello! There is a hole for blowing air on car's windshield in upper part of dash board. On the left of that ventilation hole there is a plastic "cap" (please, see attached image). But I didn't ever care if there is the same cap on the right. And today I noticed that there is no the same thing on the right. Should it be there? I also can't find appropriate part number. I would be very much obliged for any information! Thank you!
I believe that is what's called the "sun load" sensor for the HVAC system. Yes, there is only one of them and its purpose is to adjust the HVAC output based on whether the sun is shining in through the windows. You need more A/C to maintain the set temperature if the system has to deal with that thermonuclear energy bombardment.
