Had anyone tried this type of cargo liner for their Prius v? I was originally going to go with a covercraft canvas liner, but I notice that anything that touches the plastic on the side of the cargo area cause scuff marks. I'm not thrilled with the look the quilted stitching gives, but I like that all the plastic is covered in addition to the floor and back of the seats. (I'd also go with the black, but cream was easier to see in the photos) Please share thoughts and experiences
Frankly, my '12 v will be worth nothing but transportation dollars when I sell it and I'm not to worried about stone chips and scuff marks. People don't pay a lot extra for a discontinued model just because it is in excellent shape unless it is an exotic. I do have Weathertech mats but the sides of the trunk do show that the car has been used.
I'm not worried about resale value of the car, as I plan to drive it until it can't be driven any further. I'm just a bit type A and enjoy protecting what surfaces I can. I don't think the black looks nearly as tacky. They also have black with red stitching, but I've been using blue for most accents to match the hybrid logos.
I looked at them but went with the Prius V cargo liner. I haul a fishing cart for beach fishing and was concerned about how it would hold up with the cart, sand and rods on it. I wipe down the scuffs marks so they are not as noticeable.
Or just use an old rug. I have a 6 by 8 shag rug from about 1968 that I somehow have carried around with me through marriage, many moves and many cars. If I need to put something rough in the trunk and over the seatbacks, in it goes. It pops up over the sides of the trunk so protects there and even up against the back of the front seats. Catches Xmas tree needles beautifully. Call me cheap. Call it ugly. But functional. I use the rug even though I have the Weather Tech cargo area mat.
