It got splashed by someone driving by hitting a puddle and now has 3 big splotches showing on the screen. I couldn't find anything in the owner's manual to fix it.
Is this your first vehicle with a backup camera? The camera is typically hidden on the exterior just above the rear license plate and quick swipe with a wet clean cloth or similar (or just wash the car) will give you a clear view again.
Kudos for checking the manual and welcome to the site. It's the little bump just left of the hatch release. A tissue or pretty much will clean it off adequately.
I use my thumb. No need to use anything fancy. It's on the exterior of the car so is designed for heavy duty use. It's not a high definition camera anyway.
Use a soft damp cloth with a small amount of detergent (to remove any oils) then a damp clean wipe and dry. if you don't and just wipe it with anything you can find you will scratch the lens surface because any debris not removed first will scratch the surface.
it's glass... unless you got splashed in a diamond mine you'll be fine just swiping with your finger.
Welcome to PriusChat! Well, you can do the "damp-tissue/cloth" solution, as so many others have suggested, or you can head to your local dealer and ask them for their "Special Toyota Approved MajikLensCleaner" imported from Japan, in the special spray-bottle with the Toyota Logo and available for your use from all good Toyota Dealers and accessory stores, for only $39.99/½ fl.oz. bottle, see the pretty bottle? …and how nice and shiny bright it is? (please excuse my jaded sense of humour!) Welcome again, but be warned, PriusChat can be addictive!
A bit of spit might help too. Hey, painting archivists use it... If you want to get serious: drop by an optician, they might have bottles of glasses cleaner, and a microfiber cloth. I've got some of that, very good formula, use it also on UV filters on camera lens: works completely streak-free. Addendum: checked my bottle, google: leader lens cleaner
