Can I stop the music?

Well.. bluetooth stereo is great.. It makes Mozart and BB King sound amazing..

It plays your music when you turn the car on, and pauses your music when you turn the car off... Same with the audio on off button.. nice...

But suppose it plays your music, and you don't want to listen to music? Well you can press pause on your phone or on the bluetooth screen on the car display...

Nice and quiet... you just hear the hum of that EV motor!

Now suppose you have car audio with bluetooth audio on -- because you are using google maps.. but music off by pressing pause as above... because you just don't want music...

Now you get a phone call.. when you hang up the call.. it starts playing your music again! No! PAUSE!

Or you get a text message... play the text message.. when it's done... it starts playing your music again! No! PAUSE!

Or Google maps gives a voice direction... when it stops talking... it starts playing your music again!!...

Please stop the music!

I can't tell if this is bad iPhone software, or bad car audio software... but it would be nice if when you stop the music... it sticks...

 

Wait.. it's not the radio.. its phone bluetooth music... all I see is the audio capacitive button to the right of the display... you can turn that off but then you don't get phone sounds at all... no phone calls.. no google voice prompts.

 

I don't know what you are calling "radio" i never have the radio on... I don't like radio.. I would be happy if they took the radio out of the car.

Anyways... I should have checked google first.... I see there this is a common iPhone plus car audio problem... it insists on autoplaying music... looks like I can try force quitting the music app whenever I want no music....

 

but to answer your question... yes. You can have the radio off, and receive phone calls and play bluetooth voice prompts.

 

ok no... if the audio power button is off -- the capacitive button to the right of the display... that turns it all off.

 

can you hear google maps voice prompts with audio off? did not work for me, and with audio on after the voice prompt it starts music

 

IPhone only allows play and pause, no stop. you have to force quit the music app to make it not autoplay. or the other advice is to hope your car has a setting to turn off auto play. by the way, on an iphone it is abnormal to force quit apps.

 

but you know its silly, regardless of the fact i have audio on... on what planet does it make sense to un pause music because a text message was just read... it makes no sense, but i guess i got used to the fact the 07 prius had no pause button for the cd player, you had to turn off the so called radio to pause, and turn it back on to resume.

I have an iPhone... What I've been doing is force quitting the Music app. Problem is... then you can't use the Car UI to start music again. Fortunately, you can say "Hey Siri, play ...." to play an album or something and Siri will start the app up again.

So it's half hands free.
