Mine was fully covered and that's with a salvaged, rebuilt title. I am not saying this is the 'norm' or should be anyone's expectation. I picked it up today, and the only thing wrong with it is that the maintenance light is still on. I am calling the dealer to ask what if any explanation they have for it, post-brake-accumulator job. My guess is that it's something unrelated that wasn't covered, but hopefully minor.

SubversiveV, do you know if the dealer paid for the ZG-1 repairs out their pocket or did they somehow get Toyota to pay for it?

Like I said in my last post, when I talked to Toyota Customer Service, their initial position was that the WEP does not cover salvage vehicles and therefore Toyota would not cover the costs. The associate that I spoke to said that he was going to write a full reply to my initial email to Toyota Customer Service but when I got the email about four days after talking to the associate, it just thanked me for contacting Toyota Customer Service but it did not say anything pertaining to my case.

Any input about how you think I could get Toyota to pay for it would be really appreciated!! I really cannot afford to pay for all of the repair myself and we really need the car back so that we can use it.

    Thanks!!

IT was a Toyota dealership. They are directly paid from Toyota, and mine was $2049.00.
If your local Toyota dealership won't do it, tow it to the next closest dealership. Don't tell them about the first dealer, and don't tell them the status of your title. That is not something that they typically even look up unless they're trying to weasel out of it.
While I DID ask my dealer before I went, I think that you're going to get so much confusion and conjecture, that it's not worth asking.
This is likely something that not every Toyota dealership is even familiar with, and it must not be set in stone.

Go to another dealer and just let them know it's there for ZG-1 warranty repair. Also tell them you had received something in the mail.

Okay folks, thanks for the input.

I am thinking that I will take it to another dealer, tell them that I have a ZG1 problem and also tell them that I got a letter like ih8spm suggested. I really hope that it works because the first dealer charged me $135 to read the codes that I already knew were present and if the next one charges me around the same but then will not do the repairs I will be out another $135 or so.

I will see how it goes!

    Thanks again

Any updates? I took mines in last week and did exactly what I told you to do but mines turned out to be a leaking left rear wheel cylinder. They did not charge for the inspection but I did pay for the oil change.
