Is anyone else having issues setting up Entune to send push notifications? Email notifications work fine. When I turn on a push notification and click [Save], I get the message "We are sorry, the services are currently unavailable." I verified that my phone number was entered in my account information. Any thoughts?
Nice to know someone else sees it. For me, it happened on Day 1. Then Day 2, 3, and 4. I stopped trying until Day 7 and it is still happening. Not clearing up. I'm inclined to call the Help line but am not convinced I'll talk to anyone familiar with the app.
iPhone 5, OS10.3.3 I've fully closed and re-opened the app. I've hard shut down the phone and restarted it.
Cool. I know the vehicle is new, but have you checked to see if there are any Entune audio updates that can be downloaded and applied? I know they've released a few this year.
What ever floats your fuel gauge. All the Toyotas with Entune in their first GEN year get a lot of Entune audio updates. It's how they tweak comparability issues. Sometimes it takes dealer only install firmware updates which are more rare. My 2014 4Runner TEP has only had 2 firmware updates but about 5 Entun Audio updates. They also started adding these updates to the NAV map update MicroSD's.
Got it. Here is a thorough explanation of the problem's root cause: User error - Wikipedia I had been searching in the iPhone Settings -> Notifications screen but there is no Entune. It turns out I should have kept scrolling; it's "ToyotaEntune" all one word. The search function doesn't find "Entune" but will find it if you start typing "Toyota". (That's odd because I thought the spotlight search searched within words but that's a whole other issue.) Anyway: Once I enabled the Notifications in the Settings, I force-closed and reopened the app. Now it works.
Outstanding! PS, if you get an app update from the playstore, go out and force check for an Entune update. It will almost always go hand in hand, at least on Android.
Because I have a slightly older Samsung Galaxy smart phone, there is some problem setting up push notifications. When I attempt this, I get an error message saying "An unexpected error has occurred. Missing X-mUniqueId." Toyota tech support has this as an open case but it's unlikely they'll do anything because the phone model is nearing its end of commercial life. My work-around was simple: I created an email address with my email service provider which accepts email from Entune and forwards it to my phone (and my wife's phone) as a text message. That way, we both get notices when charging is complete or when the vehicle has returned home but not been plugged in. I also observed that the Entune "vehicle finder" on my phone will not work unless I am in a place where the phone has a good signal from at least 4 GPS satellites. Here, again, there is a work-around because the Entune "charging station map" does not use the cell phone's GPS, but just asks the car where it is located and pops up a map showing the car's exact location and what charging stations are near it. (Of course, unlike the Entune "vehicle finder", this does not plot a route for you to travel to get to your car because it does not use a GPS starting point.)
