Can anyone tell me how to disable the passenger side seatbelt beep? When my dog gets restless while riding, it sets off the seatbelt beep. If it isn't possible then I can engage the belt. Unfortunately, I don't think about it until it goes off. Of course, that’s when we are traveling along in traffic. Then I’m looking all around trying to figure out what is wrong with the car.
Ick, that must be one of those exciting unadvertised new "features" of the '06. I just get an idiot light on the dash when the px seat has unbuckled-in weight in it, but no beeping.

The default setting from the factory is that the driver's side beeps and the passenger side doesn't. Someone set yours wrong. In other links you will find how to disable the back up beep and the seatbelt beep. It is simple but takes three hands to do the passenger side. Maybe the dog can lend a paw!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(marjam @ Jul 8 2006, 09:07 PM) </div> Is that true for 2006? Mine also beeps to encourage my wife to put on her seatbelt.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Lil Mo @ Jul 9 2006, 09:56 AM) </div> My 06 beeps for the passenger side as well.
Post 13 under this topic has pretty good directions for turning it off: http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=18311&hl=seatbelt It is the same as turning off the reverse beep except you buckle/unbuckle the appropriate seat belt vice selecting reverse/park. It reportedly works on the 06 just as it does on the 04 and 05. My dog refuses to wear a seatbelt also.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(champ @ Jul 9 2006, 11:00 AM) </div> Really? You sure? I thought I read somewhere that the passenger seat had to be unoccupied.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(grasshopper @ Jul 9 2006, 09:35 AM) </div> Hee hee! What you don't know about Aibos (my robot pals) is that they DON'T obey well at all. They have their own personalities and often wave you off with a "talk to the paw" gesture while they do what they want. It's one of their more endearing characteristics. They can understand what you say perfectly well, but they often choose to disobey you. Just like "real" dogs.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(tumbleweed @ Jul 9 2006, 11:33 PM) </div> Really? When I disabled all my beeps (reverse & both seat belts), I read that the passenger seat needed to be occupied. When my 190 lb. brother helped me by sitting in the passenger seat and buckling/unbuckling when I told him to, it worked perfectly, the first time. This is on my 2006 Prius.
