Do you ever wonder if it is just that Prius owners are more aware of others, do we have a scent, does your Prius do odd things that you would not have expected? What are the chances that in a room of 25-30 women (gathered together for a travel seminar) the woman who just parked her white Prius next to the Salsa Prius would choose to sit next to the woman who owns the Salsa Prius. We both got there pretty early so there were plenty of seats to choose from. I have also come very close to having the first Prius on Prius accident when I was stopped at a T intersection and a woman driving a Salsa Prius cut the corner on her turn and nearly hit me.
Well, I suppose you could consider this a bizarre tale: I took my Prius in for the SSC 60C and 50P work this morning. I arrived at the service shop at the same time as another Prius owner. Later that afternoon, we both showed up at the exact same time to pick up our respective cars. Coincidence?... ... yeah, probably so.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Salsawonder @ Jul 6 2006, 09:50 PM) </div> Being that you have an '05, it could be the scent thing. Mine was off the first boat with '05s to reach the US. Just this week, two people commented that the new car smell is still there . . . 20 months later! So yes, she probably sniffed you out of the crowd. Prius pheromones at work?
I went to see "Who Killed the Electric Car" last night in Santa Monica and there were 4 other PriI parked outside the theatre! I wanted to stand up and ask whose they were...but now that I'm reading all these posts, I was probably sitting right in the middle of them.
Not in keeping with the other posts, but was certainly bizarre: I was driving on SR44 heading towards New Smyrna Beach, when a car full of teenagers came up sort of close behind me. Then they got along side me, and the kid in the passenger seat was taking pictures. I had just gotten the Prius, and was *sure* they were taking pictures of my car, and I grinned at them. They took a picture of me grinning, the kid in the passenger seat mouthed "Thanks!" and they took off. My husband thinks it had nothing to do with the car, but that might be a step weirder. Maybe they saw my pirate fish and FSM decal! =)
