So there seems to be a shortage of starving students and seniors on fixed incomes, I have 2 rebuilt gen2 2004-2009 batteries that have nobody's name on it. I'm offering it for the same price as I offer to the starving students and fixed income seniors. $350 each installed, core exchange is required. The batteries come with a 6 month warranty. This is for the local SoCal area The rebuild process I use is to clean all bus bars of corrosion, replace weak and failed modules that cannot pass a load test, recondition 3 cycles using a full pack grid charger and full pack discharger. I do not use a hobby charger so I don't have data on each individual module and capacities. Also I am not a battery professional, I only do this as a hobby. There is 1 condition on the core exchange, the battery core must be all original and never been fixed before. I do not want to fix someone's problem rebuild. The mileage on your car also cannot exceed 250k miles. I want the next person to have a reasonable pack as a rebuilt and not a worn out pack with 400k miles on it.
Thats awefully nice of you JC. When my original craps out i'll be sure to check back. Still running fine.
Hi Jc, you mentioned you want a original. I've been using a rebuilt in my 2004 for a year. You wouldn't want that as a exchange when I need another? I'm sure it's better then what was in my car. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Sounds like you are making the most of it though. You end up getting the Intelligent Discharger from Jeff?
Sounds like you are making good use of your investment . You get the Pro version or just the standard unit? Sounds like you could be paying the pro version off at a pretty fast clip . I share the setup up here. Maybe you've given me a free time idea .
Lol. I got the standard unit, it's all I need. Set it and come back in about 5 hours, then charge. I can't understand the $1000+ rebuilds. It's not that hard, only need to make sure you don't get a completely junk core back as the return unit
Using the Hybrid Automotive equipment makes life easy. Starting with known quality makes sense. I wouldn't back down from it either. Too many unknowns.
