Hey all, I've been lurking here for a while and may be getting close to picking up a new daily driver. I'm looking at a 09 Gen 2 with 140k miles. Seller states that all/most services were performed at the dealer. I'm getting confirmation tomorrow to see what exactly was done. I wanted to know if its possible for me to dial in their VIN# to retrieve service information? Is this possible for me? Or for the original owner even? If everything checks out, are there any recommended services I should be doing? I think the only one that comes to my mind is replacing the trans axle fluid. Thanks all. p.s. I also figured if the price was right, and if the battery happens to go bad at any point, it would cost about 2k, which isn't bad considering the car can run for another 100k miles with a new battery.
The car will have a CARB warranty until 10 years / 150k miles. Not bad. To get the service records, just register the VIN at the Toyota.com website, under the owners portal.
Probably not the transaxle, but most hybrid components and emissions components are covered. But the transaxle is a very rare failure for the Prius
