Has anyone figured out how to modify the start and stop music on the Prime? I know they can be turned off, but was wondering if the audio itself can be changed to another audio bit.
Yup, you can turn it off, I think it's the menu button on the display has the answer for you, it may be in settings, I don't remember where but I have turned off mine a long time ago
I have my start screen audio set to off, like many of you. I set this with the sales person sitting in the passenger seat literally the first minute I was in the car. She said something like, "Oh. Um. Hey, that's what I would have done." I don't think she knew that was possible. Now, anyone who figures out how to disable the starting video animation wins the big prize. I hate that thing.
Wow, you can turn off the video screen with Carista? Between that and the backup beeping I may have to drop the $40 to get the OBD2 with Carista.
Just took my car in for my 5,000 mile checkup and they wanted to charge me over $70 to change the backup beep. I told them I would do it myself and just ordered an ODBII device.
Hey Gaëtan Lafrance, can you confirm that carista actually allows you to disable the video animation in the beginning and not simply the sound? And here's the more important question: if the video is disabled, does the boot-time of the system decrease or does it still take roughly the same amount of time as the video playing (e.g. is the video playing just a filler to have something on the screen while the system boots (in which case removing it is pointless)).
If I was ever able to hack the start up video, I'd have the Prime bounce off the buildings like in a pinball machine. Then I'd want some sound to go along with that.
I just got the prime along with the Carista App. Was not able to find anything that skipped the start/end videos. Maybe I missed something?
