Could anyone double-check the part # of the windshield correct for my Prius Prime Advanced with HUD, US version?
    56101-4E992

Although it will be replaced in a Toyota dealer, the service consultant doesn't seem knowledgeable. An easy mistake by him could lead a mess since windshield is a nationwide back order. He doesn't even understand recalibration is necessary after replacement...

I got a rock hit from a truck on the way back from my first long trip for total eclipse. And the crack is still extending...
Other than this, I had a fun driving my prius. I drove pretty much fuel inefficiently, but still got 52.5mpg for 2901mi total.

56101- is the basic part number (prefix) for windshield glass; they aren’t ordering you a set of fuzzy dice or something. The question: is it the right windshield?

ToyotaPartsDeal.com is run by a third party, not Toyota or a dealer, but it seems to have information from Toyota’s Electronic Parts Catalog discs. The relevant page is this one:

Cowl Panel & Windshield Glass for 2017 Toyota Prius Prime

That page lists five different versions of the Glass, Windshield, of which 56101-4E992 fits the “L” trim level (ZVW52L-AHXGBA) produced in December 2016 and later.

The SimplePart catalog on parts.toyota.com is another source. On that site, if you enter the part number (56101-4E992) in the Search box, and then on the search results page, under MATCHING PRODUCTS, click View Product, you’ll go to this page:

561014E992 - Glass, windshield. Rear, glare, inside - Genuine Toyota Part

Click the WHAT THIS FITS tab, and then click SHOW MORE, and you’ll see “Toyota Prius Prime HYBRID Four Adv 2017” listed. The page also says “THIS PRODUCT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE,” but I wouldn’t worry too much about that: if the part number has actually been superseded or discontinued, Toyota will tell your dealer the correct one when they try to order it.

If you work in the other direction, from the vehicle to the part number, you’ll end up on this page, with Figure 55-03 from the Electronic Parts Catalog:

COWL PANEL & WINDSHIELD GLASS. For 2017 Toyota Prius Prime Four Adv HYBRID | Toyota

That page shows some other part numbers for windshield glass, but those may be assembly part numbers including the moulding, or the part numbers may, in fact, have been updated—perhaps as part of addressing the back-order situation.

Thanks a lot both! Now I'm convinced.

The service consultant generated a quote with this number for me and insurance, but later he asked me to give the copy of this quote because he wanted to know the part # when he placed the order.

Didn't he have his own copy of the quote HE generated? Didn't he get the number again from his system without asking his customer?
    That made me feel nervous...

    Thanks again!

Update: Windshield was finally replaced at Toyota dealer after 4-week waiting.
Lane departure warning and cruise control seem to work fine. No water leak after car wash.

The flying object (maybe a rock from a truck) hit the top-right edge where the crack started. It extended while I was driving back from Idaho and 1/4" per day while I was waiting for the glass shipping from Japan...
Meanwhile, I avoided a long trip, tried to park in the shade (which made a huge difference) and superglued once a while.
It was scary to see the crack extends day by day, but now I'm relieved.

On one of my frequent trips to DC, I had the misfortune of a small prick on the windshield becoming a huge crack. Somewhere on 95, something produced a small speck on the far right edge of the windshield. Over eight days it spread to a three, six, foot-long, and now 24inch crack. It should be an easy fix. I called Safelite and gave them make, model, year, the normal stuff. At home appointment set for three days later.

Safelite called me before arriving. "You have a 2017 Prius, right? No, I have a 2017 Prius Prime. "Oh. Can you send me a picture?" Five minutes later, phone rings. "We don't have that part in." "We are going to have to order it. It's going to be three days." "And you have to come to our shop to have the camera calibrated." Three days pass. I drive the 30 miles to Safelite. "Oh." "It appears we have the wrong part" "There's a different hood on your camera." "We don't know why Toyota makes several times." "We're going to have to order it directly from Toyota." The first thought that popped into my head, "why didn't you ask for the VIN at the first hiccup?" The response was stupid. But let's just leave it at that. "It's going to take eight days for it to arrive."

One blessing is a zero deductible. Update to follow.

Yap, been there, done that. Too bad you have to make double trips, but at least your wait is 8 days. That's substantially shorter waiting period now.

You realize windshield glass is double pane with plastic laminate in between, so no danger of shattering into pieces?

Eight days from that point, and still counting. Now the 15th day with a cracked windshield.

In my case, I called Contact Us | Contact Toyota to escalate the case to corporate level to expedite the windshield parts delivery. Still, took almost a month.
