hello prius chat I have a 2005 generation 2 Toyota Prius I was using my ac when it is blowing on medium or low it will work for about 5 min but randomly cut out, however after about 2-3 minutes turn the ac off I use it on full speed (high) and it does not cutout after trying it a few times the ac blower will only work when it's on high and will not cut out. Anybody else run into this issue?
Blower oh and just to give everybody a heads up I replaced the blower less than 1,000 miles ago I thought it was the blower which is why I replaced it but no luck
Most likely the blower motor resistor. Most of the time when they flake out the control unit can't change the blower speed, sometimes you may get 2 speeds but usually just 1, sometimes doesn't come on at all and eventually won't come on at all. If you took it to the dealer they should have been able to diagnosis that so I don't know may not be that, but I'd check it.
Second the resistor. When it fails the blower motor receives the full 12 volts, then you have 2 speeds. On and off.
