According to this article Toyota Updates Entune to 3.0, Adds Wi-Fi – News – Car and Driver | Car and Driver Blog Entune 3 has Wi-Fi hotspot courtesy of Verizon for up to 5 users. Does that mean Prime come with free 4g lte forever?
Err you know it's only free for 6 months (or 2GB whichever comes first). After that, it's subscription-based.
The vehicle is the hotspot. It's just like turning on the option with your phone. It becomes a Wi-Fi source (like any home wireless router). I have that on mine with Verizon already, so I can simulate what the new Entune will offer. The catch is how much data and how fast?
Wow, this is a news to me, then again I have not read 2017 Prius Prime Wide Navigation System Owner's Manual (OM47B68U) yet. Is the 6 mo from the time of purchase or what???
It's not available on Prime. You're fine. Entune 3.0 is only available on the Camry (so far). It will propagate to other models (I'm guessing as they get redesigned or updated). It'll be from when you activate the whole suite (Safety Connect).
Oh... not for PRIME, and only with Safety Connect. Which means even if it come to Prime, will be only for Advanced trim. OK, I am not going to read 2017 Prius Prime Wide Navigation System Owner's Manual (OM47B68U) after all.
