Hi Can I replace my basic Prius radio/cd with the touch version? Will everything work the same? Cheers Tony
I swapped mine. It requires an antenna adapter and one wiring harness change as far as I recall. It's a worthwhile upgrade. If you add the USB cable, you can connect an iPod or use a USB stick. Also, bluetooth streaming is nice except you would have to add a microphone to get phone functionality. I can only stream audio from my phone over bluetooth, not take phone calls.
It doesn't. But I really like the additional functionality. Most aftermarket units wouldn't match either.
I know there would be connections for the microphone but what is needed for the Bluetooth streaming? iPad ?
Are you able to get audio from the USB input ? Im curious to know if the USB and the bluetooth streaming are both inoperative.
Ok finally got the USB cable and took the radio out again to hook it up. It seems the bluetooth part is a separate box with what looks like a single maybe fiber connection to the main radio. It is made by harman kardon I believe it was marked and has a 32 pin connector on it with the grey usb connector also. The main radio also had the grey connector and was working there but of course not off the separate box. Need to find something to hook to that thing so I can get bluetooth.
Ok so after research this is the Entune module, guess on my radio its also the bluetooth. Going to order the cable and see if I can get it to work. Loving the HD radio. Link below where I found the info on the module and part number for the cable. Another update. Got the cable installed and have entune and it kind of sucks. Upgraded it to newest version 5.2. Bluetooth now works and waiting on antenna for gps. Doing research on what it will take to put in reverse camera. iPad ?
