Will there be mirror-integrated turn signals on 2018?

The Lexus CT200H was just like a posh version of the Toyota Auris Hybrid, same hybrid system, different body shape and almost the same size. You could top spec an Auris and still have £1000s left over, compared to the CT200H. Also the CT200H was heavy and mpg suffered.

Actually, she has driven it only twice, despite my encouragement. She seems to find it easy enough, but I think she's secretly afraid of all the techno-magic which she prefers to ignore... and she says I'm the control freak!

Over here, it's "European inspired" to account for the small (for NA standards) size. However, it was our way of getting a better handling Prius with a significant mpg hit and cargo size reduction.

Signals in the side view mirrors is going to raise the cost/complexity, is it not: more stuff to fail, more expensive in an accident. I'd put it same catagory as auto-folding mirrors: surplus to requirements.

I'd much rather see 3 door touch to unlock become universal. But that's likely not going to happen, the current situation keeps the base model base.

I sure would have liked motorized folding mirrors.

    Got them here too.

I have them set to fold when I lock up - helps if I glance back at the car, folded mirrors confirms I remembered to lock.

I checked - yes, both sides of mine are convex, and seem to be different radii. The driver's is slightly less curved than the passenger's, except for the outer 38mm, which seems approx the same, or maybe a bit more than the passenger's side.

    Driver's (RH):

Personally, I find them not as good as flat mirrors - but we've had them for at least 10 years, not that I could say I've got used to them.

You're right about more cost, when I replaced a damaged door mirror signal lamp on my Prius+ it cost around £26 (GBP). When I inspected the old one I noticed it had a 5W bayonet type filament bulb inside which was totally inaccessible without destroying the unit, so if the 50p bulb goes it costs you £26 to replace it (DIY).

I would think that turn signals in the mirrors might reduce the effectiveness of the flashing blind spot alert in the mirror.

Not for normal driving, but under those special situations where many factors add up to cause an accident.

Never had them, though -- just a theory.

No, because you can't see the turn signals on the mirrors from inside the car.

No, you can't see it from inside - it points outwards but mostly forward (photo from 2007 FORD FOCUS like the first car I had with them):

How is it that an 07 Focus has these...as do all the significantly more barebones Subarus and other cars on the road...but Toyota won't add them to the Prius?

Nope. There are US cars with them. Just not the Prius.
