I have a 2009 with 163K on it. If I open my car door and rock the car back and forth by planting my foot on the ground there is a very noticable sqeeking sound. Like the sound you might hear from an old spring mattress. I never hear the sound going over bumps, but first noticed it when coming to an abrupt stop. Today I had the car washed. Right after I tried to replicate the sound but could not do so I'm wondering if it's a lubrication issue. Any thoughts?
Rear brakes? Do you have your parking brake on when doing this? Is the noise there with or without parking brake? Drum brakes can sometimes (only seen it on other cars) make that short of noise.
Mine does that too at 245k miles. It needs new shocks but I don't feel it's worth it at this point At your amount of miles you could go for the shocks if you plan to keep the car longer.
Well .......time for an investigation. Find someplace you can get the car on a lift and take a good look at how much damage rust has caused on the undercarriage. Then like LECTRO you can wisely make a decision on how much time and money to invest. I can guarantee you need struts all around at the very least which is expensive. You must get it on a lift jacking it up is harder to see what's going on.
It makes the noise with the car off and the key is removed. Struts were given a green light on a safety inspection at 150,000 miles The struts appear okay on some basic tests. Doea feel very upy and downy going over bumps and i cant oush it up and down easily Will i get a light if the struts are really ba
