Cusco rear sway bar

torsion bar is design to twist absorbing up and down movements adding the super stiff cusco rear sway ( which is much stiffer than trd) will connect the two sides more so, countering what the torsion bar was design to do! I don't know it's true that tanbe springs are really stiff they say! maybe going with trd may give a softer ride!

 

Any updates?

Looking to put a rear sway bar on the Prius. Deciding between the TRD and Cusco. Is there a noticeable difference between the two? Want to keep a stock ride, but improve cornering.

 

Installed the Cusco Rear Sway Bar and wow what a difference in handling turns! Getting the bolts under the rubber is a PITA, but everything else is eeezy peezy.

 

What other mods do you have?

Suspension-wise? that's the only thing. Future mods would be some light drop springs and 18" wheels.

 

Also interested installing sway bar here.. so you only installed rear sway bar and not the front sway bar, not even lowering spring and you said it already have a lot of difference when turning ?

 

Yes, a rear sway bar is very effective in preventing the body from tilting to one side, when you're making a turn. If you're on a budget and have to choose one, go with the rear sway bar first.

 

Rear sway bar has no effect on body roll on a trailer arm! Reason is that it's is not attached to the body in any way! What it does is stiffen the twisting effect of a u bar trailer arm ! What I notice help rear end tracking! Rear seem to ride rougher too!
