Gen3 cooling fan ... cleaning. 2010 Prius 167,022 miles Last week Prius was parked in the sun without sunshade up and windows sealed for most of the day (mistake). Went I drove off it was sluggish / half power, nearly all gas power no battery power. Battery graph on display looked normal. Scan guage read 123 for batt temps. No warning lights on dash. Parked in the shade for a few hours. Had more power but still not full and batt temps were around 115. Over night sat back in garage and next day fine back to normal. We have owned Prius for just over a year and 28k miles. We love our dogs so they ride with us a lot. Prius battery cooling fan was half full of dog hair. That came right out. Used a dry toothbrush to clean out the rest of the dirt that was stuck to the blades. All said roughly an hour job. Pretty entry level diy. Oh and thx to Mr Nutz for his video. I skipped a few parts of removing trim but his HV Fan video is spot on as usual. Nutz About Bolts Prius Maintenance Videos | PriusChat
Noticed cooler temps during regular driving now. It's a bit subjective but maybe 10 degrees cooler? Anyone know which battery sensor is where ?
