Malcolm Bricklin used "Safety Orange" on many of his gullwing cars, supposedly for that color's visibility. .
Orange doesn't seem to be as popular as yellow though... The RSX offered it for the refreshed model The CL Type-S, 350Z, Prius c and Boxster/Cayman
Yeah, the white ones were a lot better looking too! We were stuck with trying to sell an orange one for over a year at our dealership. . I want the solar-power-generating paint!! .
Hmm, well then. We should just forget solar panels on cars then and leave it to stationary objects. Actually scratch that, I love my solar panel on my Gen 3. It's so nice not having to get into a hot car.
My previous Toyota (Corolla DX Wagon) was white, and over 21+ years (and 292,000+ miles) started showing rust along the edges¹, and my good friend Craig (who knows all about cars) informed me that the reason that white cars tend to rust out (as my poor old Corolla did) was that when they get wet, they never really thoroughly dry out, whereas dark paint tends to dry better than the lighter shades. (…just sayin' ) ¹ - c'mon, Wil, be honest, the 1993 Corolla failed the State Inspection with rusted out rocker-panels (…well, it did have 292,000 miles on odometer, and was 21 years old! )
I bought my '09 new and went with Magnetic Gray and have loved it...doesnt show dirt as quickly as other colors, either.. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
