Well you already pointed out my location perception was wrong, but you can try MAC's (not in NoVA). I see that MAC's is still listed as a Dorman hybrid battery installer (had been Re-Involt).

Miller Toyota in Manassas gets some good marks and apparently takes Costco discount.

There is a hybrid shop in MD closer to B'more. Shows up in some hybrid repair shops lists. Maybe these guys below (see MD shops):

Our area seems to have very few hybrid shops...not sure why as we are one big hybrid market.

 

It's been a long time since last post (2014) but can't seem to find any updated recommendations. I'm looking at possible major work on my 2007 gen II Prius, like I may have blown engine bearings. Any updates on good, honest, affordable independent Prius mechanics in the Northern Virginia area? I see Steven's garage and MAC's ( 'bout 90 miles away) but are there any other's/updates?

Not hearing too much from DMV Prius owners re: part failures, I guess they are all doing well.
Hillmuth in MD was originally on the certified hybrid service list, and they still say hybrid service.
I don't know if there are specific Hillmuth locations where they are more experienced with hybrids
