I have a 2011 Prius with 75000miles. The energy monitor (car icon with ICE, Electric motor, and battery) no longer displays the arrows showing energy flow. The wheels on the car are still animated when the vehicle is in motion. I have searched through the forums and see that several people have had a similar problem but have not been able to see that anyone was able to solve the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks
Car is running fine, haven't noticed and issues. Acceleration is good and I am averaging 50+ mpg. Problem does not seem to affect operation of the car in any way. Just missing the display of the animated arrows.
I have the same problem with arrows. I am new to this forum and have had my 2011 Prius only since November 2016. I usually drive using the Hybrid monitor or the 1-5 min consumption bar graph but sometimes want to switch to the Energy monitor and my arrows seem to show up while on other days they don't. There is no consistency. I am the second owner, so I don't know if the auxiliary battery has been disconnected or not. I have searched the forum and there seems to be no definite answer to this problem. I drive a European version. It's not really a problem because everything else works fine. The battery is charging. Has anyone found a reason for this strange behaviour?
Just came back from the dealer with same issue. The issue was that previous owner/dealer forgot to reattach the temp sensor on the 12v battery!
The "temperature sensor" on top of the auxiliary 12- volt battery attached to the holding bar. either detaching from the 2-wire connector or faulty sensor will deactivate the arrows animation in the Energy Monitor screen and on touchscreen also. My problem was fixed today. I found out one of the 2 wires was cut, and I reattached that wire, and the arrows shown. Attached is the sensor. Toyota calls it thermistor
Does this issue affect air conditioning on top of the arrows and charge info not displaying? I have a Gen 2 (2008) with this issue currently.
