    Hi all!

I'm in the market for the Generation 4 Prius, and it seemed like the One trim was a fair price range.

I've been looking around the California Bay Area and have been getting Trucar offers of $19,500 before taxes and fees.

Is $19,500 a fair price? Should I keep looking, try bargaining, etc?

    Thank you all!

    $19,500 before taxes?
    Doesn't sound bad.

    $19,500 before taxes and fees?

    ....that depends.
Delivery fee is usually pretty firm, and it's something like $800.
Dealers often will charge "document" fees that can range from less than $50 to deep in the hundreds of dollars.

Get a firm quote, sometimes called a purchase order with a VIN and all of the fees, taxes, etc......meaning
"I pay XXXXX.XX, and you give me a detailed car with a full tank of gas."

    Good Luck!

why not fly to maine, get a $28,000. prime for $25,000., take the 7k in tax credits, and you've got a way better car than the prius 1 for 18k!(y)

You need to hear from fellow CA purchasers re: current pricing.
What is your timing requirement as maybe prices will be more attractive in Fall....no promises but sometimes...

I'm currently looking at this deal:

Around the $18,900 price range offer... plus a $1,000 student college rebate.

Essentially, a 2017 Prius One for less than $18K.

    Any thoughts?

I paid for a 2017.5 Prius Two $22388 OTD including 3% NC taxes and fees. That is around $21,000 sans taxes and fees I guess. So $18k seems good for a prius one, as long as they do not kill you on fees. I think dealers pad the fees if you only negotiate the pre-tax-and-fees cost, though. I'd negotiate ONLY their OTD cost (out the door). That way they don't have any reason to pad the fees at the end.

I’m in California and was just offered a One for $22,395 out the door, all taxes and fees.

Sounds like I may need to negotiate some more?
