Uh-oh. I sratched the front bumper on a curb. Now what?

+1 I made the mistaken of getting tires without those (I should have got Michelins but instead got Toyo tires) and have to be really careful when parking. Even so, I've already messed up my wheels a bit and I've always tried to be really careful too!

We've still managed to chew the 17" rims some, even with Michelin Pilot hx MXM4 which HAVE rim protector. Classic Silver Metallic (1F7 code IIRC) touch up pen works for me. Not noticeable unless you get real close.

Which rims do you have? I have the Prius Plus 17" rims. Just wondering if that is the right touch up paint/pen for me.

It's exact match for the reg 17" rims. Probably OEM 15" rims and/or their covers too. The Persona rims I believe are a little darker.

Thanks. Those aren't the rims I have. I have the TRD Prius Plus rims, these:

Are they chrome, or clearcoated polished aluminum, are some sort of paint? Chrome or clearcoated aluminum I'd use clearcoat. The other end of the touch-up pen is clearcoat. I never use it after touchup paint, since I've found it tends to LIFT the paint. But I've used it on another car with clearcoated aluminum rims.

Is that your car? Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 plus? If so what's your impressions. Oh, and do they have rim guard?

No, that's just a stock image, not my car. I have Toyo tires currently.

I think the rims are some sort of forged/powder coated aluminum. Probably painted too.

They will have to take the bumper off, fix the damaged area and repaint the entire bumper. About $500.

Here in California there is an abundance of "bumper repair" mobile detail guys who do awesome jobs on situations like this. I had one done on my wife's car 5 years ago when my son parked her car in the garage too close to the garage door. So, in the morning we turned on the garage door and the hinges sliced these nice deep grooves in her rear bumper. They were deeper than yours. For $180 and 2 hours work, the guy completely fixed it. To this day, you still can't tell if there ever was an issue. I would google "bumper repair" in your area and see what pops up. If you find a place, send them this photo so they can pretty much quote you upfront.

body shop should be able to do a partial bumper repaint for 250-350.
