What changes can we expect for 2018?

i'd say the porcelain is a possibility, but it might wait until the mid model refresh.
otoh, with ben 4 sales so poor, they might do something drastic.

 

I bought a mophie case for my iphone and the wireless charging works just fine. As an added bonus, it added a ton of battery life to the phone.

Gen 4 sales are dwindling because Americans want big cars now that gas is dirt cheap. The pendulum will swing right back before long.

 

Agreed. If you look around we are going back to an SUV society once again, then they will be asking for a bailout when gas goes to $4+ dollars once again. On a side note, at least some manufacturers are getting SUV's that are capable of delivering around 30 MPG combined.

 

What I would like to see outs Android auto and apple car play for the mmc but i know that's not likely. We'll probably see new hub caps. Let's hope for a revision on the front and rear tail lights.

BTW get yourself an iPhone 8 or a wireless adapter for your iphone.

 

And the white console is just GREAT.

The piano black is terrible, takes ½ an hour after dusting before it's dusty again.

My white console has never collected any dust in 12½ months.

I want an entire white interior next time.

 

To be clear, 2018 will be the 3rd year of Gen 4. The mid cycle changes generally come after the 3rd year. So, you will probably have to wait for the 2019 cars to see the kind of changes you are hoping for.

 

The last two model Prius mid cycles occurred in its 3rd year. Will that happen again for the Gen 4? We'll see.

The 2004 Gen.II was released, and it got a refresh for its 2006 model year.

The 2010 Gen.III got a refresh for the 2012 model year. So the 2018 Gen.IV may likely be refreshed.

 

That's OK with me. We should find out soon. I do think most vehicles including most Toyotas, like the Rav4 for example, have been updated after three but apparently the Prius has been the exception.

 

I thought I saw a thread, or maybe it was a Toyota press release, that talks about a new improved Hybrid system in the redesigned 2018 Camry? Maybe the Prius is next.
The white cup holder console is not so bad. You don't even notice it when driving. And like Alan said, it does seem to stay clean. I spruced mine up a little, with some color.

camry gets it after prius. and they don't get a major change like that from year to year, just at generation changes. new prius started in 2016.

 

Is bisco yelling at me??? I don't know bisco, the press release made it sound like it was a newer, and improved HV system in the Camry. I will let you know when I slip inside my new 2018 Camry Hybrid, and fire her up!

it is new, for the camry. the 2012-17 camry had the second gen hybrid system, while the 2010-15 prius had the second gen. then 2016 prius got third gen, and now camry gets it in 2018.
i'm not counting gen 1 prius.

 

That's good. Looking forward to a test drive in the '18 Camry. (And they also have a new improved 4cyl and 6cyl gas engines. But that is taboo is this forum... )

 

i think what you'll find is that it's easier to do much better than epa in the prius than it will be in the camry.
the way the cars are programmed, prius is very conservative. so loe 50's mpg on sticker usually translates to much better on the road for people who want to try.
in the camry, toyota has been pressured by several competitors to hit 50 mpg. so doing better than that on the road may be difficult.
at least, that has been my past experience with 2 generations of each car.

 

I'm on the similar situation now, my 2012 was T bone and totaled by someone last week and looking for a 2017 or 2018 as replacement. Wife love to have a heated steering wheel and I would like to have windshield wiper de-icer for the Canadian winter environment. The heated steering do come standard in Canadian version of Prius prime so just wondering will a 2018 Prius have this as well......
