I have a gen 3 prius but like the black/silver look of the prius prime wheel covers. They are both 15" so was wondering if there would be any fit issues or would it be plug n play?
I'm thinking it might. Better check the price first: I think they rival aftermarket alloy rims. That might dissuade you.
Ya good point, I have a friend thinking about getting wheels for his prime and would sell them for cheap. They should theoretically fit right?
Well from a friend you can trial install them to check. From what I've been reading here the rims are virtually identical, just some very subtle differences in the spoke pattern. And you can yoink them off without wheel removal.
Do the 2012+ wheel covers fit 2010-11 wheels? The 10/11 wheel covers are ugly but I don't want to lose MPG by taking them off.
The 2012+ definitely fit. Im wondering if the 16-17 prime covers work for gen 3. It should but not 100%. Someone here has to have done this??
I can absolutely guarantee you from 103,000 miles of experience that removing the 2010 wheel covers will NOT hurt your gas mileage. If it did, I could never have achieved 76.418 MPG over a 522 mile distance on one day, and 75.016 MPG over 805.2 miles. See my signature for stats. Detailed threads are in the 2010 forum. I took my covers off and went with the flat center caps # 42603-52110. There's also a Domed Cap # 42602-52030. Both fit the 2010.

What about non-Prime Gen 4 Prius with 15" wheels? Will that cover fit a 15" wheel on Gen 3? asking for a friend....
