My mom has a 2017 Prius PHV (Prime), fully spec'd (package is called Executive here). It's my understanding that some variants of the car could be had with a heated steering wheel in the US. Anyone know how much that would cost to buy and whether or not it could be plug-and-played right into a European Prime?
The only way to get that option is to buy the fullly loaded trim package. It isn't an individual option. #1 in Easley,SC
I realize that, but I'd assume there's a part number for it. I've ordered US-specific Lexus parts from my Norwegian Toyota-dealer before without a hitch. As long as you've got a part number, they can usually source it. It's just a matter of how much you wanna pay and whether or not it can be fitted to a European model.

Meh (for now - haven't used it yet - in July). Not saying it isn't useful. Lux cars all have this function now I guess. Kind of indifferent about it. Nice looking button on the steering wheel for it. I figure if it is cold enough to really need it, I'd be wearing gloves anyway.
Haha, me too brother... I even considered shelling out some 3000 dollars (in norway moneys) to install a gasoline heater (usually called "parking heater") to use while driving. It would use way less gas than having to run the piston engine to create heat and would start heating from the first seconds of running it. It's got its own fuel pump, lines etc, and runs the cars original fans to spread the heat around.
